Engaging Globally

Fueled by optimism, ingenuity and a collaborative spirit, Stanford University welcomes the international community on campus and beyond. Stanford seeks to model how a global research university can collaborate with its neighbors in the region, nation, and world to accelerate solutions and amplify impact on issues crucial to our collective future.

Engagement Inquiries and Visits

The Office of Community Engagement (OCE) facilitates global visits. International representatives can contact our office to explore opportunities for campus visits, virtual meetings or other engagements. OCE does not initiate international partnerships directly, but we can facilitate connections for external parties to meet with faculty and staff in mutual areas of interest, where possible. Requests for visits or collaboration are specifically prioritized by the academic and research goals of the department, program, or school of the relevant Stanford member with whom the delegation may be interested in meeting. Given multiple cross-departmental Stanford members who may be involved in planning, we require a minimum of one month lead time to facilitate a potential visit.

If your visit involves high-level international dignitaries such as foreign heads of state, heads of government, ambassadors, or senior ministerial officials, please contact the Office of Special Events & Protocol (OSEP) to explore these opportunities before proceeding with any itinerary or logistics at Stanford. Multiple dimensions for high-level visits need to be considered, in accordance with OSEP guidelines. Please refer to OSEP’s planning guide for more information.
