Monday, Nov. 11 - Wreaths at Memorial Court and Memorial Auditorium, Stanford University

The Office of the President places floral wreaths and a letter at both Memorial Court and Memorial Auditorium as symbols of our gratitude and respect for the services and sacrifice of Stanford’s veterans. Memorial Auditorium will be open for viewing memorial plaques, 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Monday, Nov. 11 - Veterans Day lunch with Ismail Ramsey, U.S. Attorney

Stanford Law School is hosting Air Force veteran and U.S. Attorney Ismail Ramsey at a special Veterans Day event. Ramsey will discuss his path from military service to law, leading the Northern District of California office. In particular, he will talk about his launch of a new Veterans Treatment Court for veterans with service-connected mental health conditions. SLS extends a special invitation military-connected/veteran students. Open to the public. Lunch provided to those who register here

The City of Palo Alto and Stanford University are pleased to host the third joint Veterans Day Recognition Event, held in tribute to the service and contributions of the veterans of our U.S. Armed Forces. We invite the local community to attend this special event, especially our veterans. 

Highlights:

  • Keynote Speaker: The Hon. Anna Eshoo, Member, House of Representatives, 16th Congressional District
  • Guest speakers: Mayor Greer-Stone, City of Palo Alto and Martin Shell, Chief External Relations Officer, Stanford University   
  • South Bay Blue Star Moms, presenting a quilt to Ernestine, "Ernie" Faxon, World War II veteran, American Legion member and third-generation Palo Altan
  • Nova JimĂ©nez, soloist, Stanford University Department of Music 
  • Emcee: Jordan Isham, '26

A reception follows in the MacArthur Park Restaurant, which houses the American Legion Palo Alto Post 375. Enjoy hors d'oeuvres, cake, and company with other attendees.

Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability invites everyone to the Mitchell Patio for its Veterans Day Coffee Convo. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with veterans and community members over a warm cup of coffee or tea. Enjoy a delightful selection of pastries, fruit, and other baked goods while participating in a fun raffle.

The first joint efforts between Stanford, the City of Palo Alto and local military communities and schools to recognize veterans took place in 2022, with a series of events
