Events Manager

Joanna Jeffs

Joanna works with both the Office of Community Engagement and the Office of Government Affairs to support program and operations needs.  She coordinates community engagement events and projects, and maintains customer support systems. This involves responding to inquiries, developing exposure opportunities and events that build relationships and share information about mutual regional challenges. Joanna joined the Office of Government Affairs in 2017. Prior to Stanford, Joanna was a freelance professional development coach and worked in human resources management in the finance and tech industries. 

Prior to moving from the United Kingdom to the United States, Joanna was a police officer in the Metropolitan Police Service, London, UK. She worked in London's diverse communities and was a trainer for police officers and staff, teaching subjects such as criminal law, investigative interviewing, and community policing. 

Joanna is  actively involved in public education advocacy in the region. She currently sits on the PTSA Executive Board at Sequoia High School in Redwood City and is the VP of Advocacy & Community Concerns for the 17th District PTA (San Mateo County). She has a Human Resources Management professional qualification from the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, UK.
