OCE Seed Funding

The Office of Community Engagement supports projects that are co-created between Stanford and community organizations, efforts that focus on accelerating solutions to affordability, education, health, and sustainability challenges in our region.

Over the past three years, OCE used seed fund awards to encourage collaborations that bring our communities together to identify a central problem that can be addressed with Stanford’s academic resources. The work is considered central to living our values in the Stanford Vision: To harness our expertise to make advancements for the common good. 

The 2023 awards drew from many of the more than 135 units on Stanford campus recognized "community engagement hubs," defined by OCE as the offices and units that engage in sustained community partnerships, involve faculty, staff and students, dedicate resources to sustain the partnership, and practice principles of ethical and effective service.

2024 Seed Fund Proposals

The Office of Community Engagement seeks proposals from faculty and staff working with community partners on defined projects, particularly those focused on building healthy and resilient communities in the Bay Area and beyond. Learn more and apply by Oct. 2, 2023.
